Introduction


Nava means ’nine’ and Graha means planet’. The 9 different types of the planet are represented through hand gestures.

According to Hindu religious text, these 9 planets are explained with their respective names :


  • Suryahasta




  • Chandrahasta




  • Kujhasta




  • Budhahasta




  • Guruhasta




  • Shukrahasta




  • Shanihasta




  • Rahuhasta




  • Ketuhasta




 

This Navagraha carries out an important role in our daily part of life and they are related to Raashis and Nakshtraas. According to the Astrologer, our life and future are predicted by positions of the planet ‘sun’ and ‘moon’.

  • Suryahasta Shloka

Meaning of Suryahasta

Near to the neck, ( Alpatham-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand and ( Kapith-hasta ) mudra is shown through right-hand it is called Surya-hasta.

Meaning of Chandrahasta

If ( alpatham-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand and ( patakaa-hasta ) is shown through right-hand it is called Chandra-hasta.

Dhritshachetraatyashaatra   Ragae : Rakkar : Smritah :

 

Meaning of Kujaahasta

If ( Suchi-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand and ( Mushti-hast ) mudra is shown through right-hand it is called Kuja-hasta.

Meaning of Budhahasta

Analysing ( Mushti-hasta ) mudra shown through left-hand horizontally and (Patakaa-hasta ) mudra shown through right-hand it is called Budha-hasta.

    Hastaabhyaam  Shikharam Dhritva | Yagyasootrasya Darshanama

Meaning of Guruhasta

If both hands holding ( Shikhar-hasta ) mudra pointing towards ‘Janeau’ then it is called guru-hasta.

 

  • Shukrahasta Shloka


Vaamobhaage Mushti  : Syaaddhastaadyadiptirage   Tathaa |

Sukragahkar : Prokto Bhartaagaamvedibhji

Meaning of Shukrahasta

If both hands are holding Mushti-hasta, left-hand lifted upward and right-hand bend downward it is called Shukr-ahasta.

Shaniahvarkar : Prokto     Bhartaagaamkovidae :

 

Meaning of Shanihasta

( Shikhar-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand and ( Trishol-hasta ) mudra is shown hugh right-hand it is called Shani-hasta.

Meaning of Rahuhasta

( Sarpshish-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand and ( Suchi-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand it is called Rahu-hasta.

Meaning of Ketuhasta

( Suchi-hasta ) mudra is shown through left-hand and ( Pataka-hasta ) mudra is shown through right-hand it is called Ketu-hasta.

Introduction : Bhramari Bheda “ Bhramari” is meant by taking a turn. This movement is possible only through foot. Thererfore, bhramari bheda is kept under the pada- karma. Introduction : Nayak-Nayika According to human behaviour Shastrakaron explained the difference in behaviour of ‘Men’ and ‘Women’ which are called as nayak-nayika bheda.
